A Johnson man, in a plea bargain with prosecutors, has pleaded
guilty in two sexual assault cases.
Dominick Hough, 20, was charged initially with sexually assaulting
a 14-year-old girl in June, and he and another man were accused of
filming sex and furnishing drugs and alcohol to several girls
between ages 15 and 17.
The two felony charges were reduced to misdemeanors of engaging in
a prohibited act.
Hough pleaded guilty to both misdemeanors Nov. 10 in Lamoille
Superior Court. He got identical sentences of nine to 12 months in
jail, with all but 30 days suspended; the jail sentences will be
served simultaneously. He was also placed on probation for two
years.
According to a police affidavit filed with the court, Hough’s
girlfriend — the mother of his child — walked in while he was
having consensual sex with the 14-year-old. However, under Vermont
law, children under age 16 can’t legally consent to sex.
In a separate incident, police had alleged Hough raped a
15-year-old in Johnson in June. The girl told police she was forced
to have sex with Hough, and it stopped only when she repeatedly hit
Hough and pushed him away, according to the affidavit.
Police allege Oscar Delgado, 26, of Wolcott and two juveniles
watched the attack, and one youth told police Delgado had
videotaped the assault.
Delgado has pleaded not guilty to lewd and lascivious conduct with
a child, obstructing justice, four counts of furnishing alcohol to
minors, and disseminating indecent material to a minor. If
convicted, Delgado could face 16 years in prison and $19,000 in
fines.
